A tale as old as time. A little girl reads, runs, scrapes her knees and muddies her clothes, and then reads some more. She picks up long sticks and imagines herself a warrior, climbs trees high enough to pretend she rides dragons. She reads until it threatens to drown her, and scribbles stories onto the back of her school assignments. One more muddy girl with too many thoughts to keep to herself, now grown into one more spinner amongst the many.

A. H. Rinehart is a writer based in Denver, Colorado. She began writing her breakout fantasy novel, THE GODS OF BLOOD AND HONEY, in the driver’s hole of an M1A2 Abrams Battle Tank while a Polish rainstorm dripped through the hatch. Though the tanker’s life is behind her, its absence has only left more time for writing.
